This page outlines how different projects in the Plotly Organization on GitHub are maintained. There are two types of projects: those that are maintained by Plotly, and those that are maintained by the Plotly community.
Maintained by Plotly means that Plotly staff will review issues, merge pull requests, and prepare releases as part of their regular work.
Projects that are maintained by Plotly include the following badge on the README.md
in that project’s GitHub repository.
Some of the projects you’ll find this on are Dash, Plotly.py, and Dash AG Grid.
For details on how to contribute to a Plotly-maintained project, see the README.md
and/or CONTRIBUTING.md
files in the project’s GitHub repository. For example, the instructions for contributing to Dash are in CONTRIBUTING.md
.
Maintained by the Plotly Community means that while we host the repository, we rely on community members to manage the project’s development.
Projects that are maintained by the community include the following badge on the README.md
in that project’s GitHub repository.
Some of the projects you’ll find this on are Dash Slicer, Dash.jl, and angular-plotly.js.
For details on how to contribute to a community-maintained project, see the README.md
and/or CONTRIBUTING.md
files in the project’s GitHub repository. The README.md
should also contain details about who the project’s current maintainers are.
If there is a project that you’d like to work on, but it has no maintainers, you can reach out to us at community@plot.ly to become a maintainer.
